We are joining forces with 144 to propose an evening of Audio-Visual outbursts, punctuated by uncompromising performance and poetry. We have carefully curated a lineup of thought-provoking artists who work across speculative futures, trans rights, intersectional feminism, and gender politics. The evening features live sets/performances by MCs Female Allstars + DJ Vectra, poet FMAX, movement artist Mary Feliciano; on the decks DJs Bella Olive, Sasoraye and K means; and moving image works by artists and filmmakers Keiken, New Kyd + IX4M, Josèfa Ntjam, Eva Papamargariti, and Danielle Brathwaite-Shirley.
More than ever, this is an invitation to let go, release, rage and indulge together, reaffirming the potential of mutual care, against a defunct system that wants to divide us!
Some of the proceeds will go towards expenses for putting the night together, and part of it to Saffron, a platform that aims at advancing gender equality in the music tech sector by creating a safe space for women, non-binary people and other minority genders to learn and build confidence.
__________
WHAT TO EXPECT:
Fierce MCs / movement influenced by streetdance and capoeira / Arabic Rhythms colliding with EDM / spoken word / sci-fi / techno / queer anthems / poetry / edits and re-edits / DJ blends with footwork & experimental bass and post-punk.
This event is the first out of 3, as part of Décalé’s residency at The Yard. For each of our take over, we will work with 1 platform, and fundraise for 1 charity.
